Methodology

How Tafsīr Scholar is prepared.

The public website preserves the structure and wording of approved readings while presenting them as stable, searchable reference pages.

Source-grounded publication

Published readers are generated from approved Markdown sources. The website verifies each source revision before rendering and stops when an expected source has changed.

Two reading levels

Each complete verse or opening text keeps its reader-facing explanation and its deeper specialist study together. The website does not invent summaries, keywords, or conclusions that are absent from the source.

Arabic, tables, and citations

Arabic runs retain right-to-left direction inside otherwise English pages. Tables remain horizontally scrollable on narrow screens, and footnotes stay attached to the relevant reading.

Stable addresses and revisions

Numeric verse addresses remain stable. Material may be corrected or expanded; public changes are recorded on What’s new, while the versioned data interface identifies the current published revision.
